SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Cowboys rookie receiver Dez Bryant has been helped off the field by trainers after apparently injuring his right ankle at the end of practice.

Bryant became entangled with a defender while trying to catch a pass near the end of Friday's practice. When he got up and tried to walk, he grimaced in obvious pain, then sat down on the turf and reached for his right ankle.

Trainers checked on him and helped him off the field. The extent of the injury and the exact nature of it were not immediately known.

plumbgood just about broke my heart there... you know the only reason i became a cowboy fan is because my uncle chuey had this awesome t-shirt he would wear all the time. i have now realized that i am nothing more than a wanna-be DALLAS cowboy t-shirt fan. sniff sniff

I bet Roy Williams t-bagged Dez and then told everyone else not to help him off the field.

plumbgood - I thought the Cowboys were "American's team" - second routing for the team where you live went out with cable TV back before you were born most likley. Third this guy may have talent but he has proved he needs to play a sport like Golf or Tennis where he does not need to be a SMALL part of a TEAM

This guy is awesome, But there is only one problem . I'm From DALLAS TEXAS,the grown men watching and maybe reading tis media are citizens of SAN ANTONIO TEXAS.You people are feeding off someone else. GET YOUR OWN TEAM. Stop leeching off other teams.Un-occupy one hand and stick the other in you pocket and support your own team man.Look at all the people here in this city.

Jerry Jones made another outsanding decision and blew a lot of money for nothing. Dez is nothing more than another Drama Queen like T.O. Jerry continues to shoot from the hip and hit himself in the foot. with the attitude Dez has displayed and his penchant for injury his career will probably more closely track that of Jamarkus Russell than that of Michael Irvin. Trade him now Jerry, while you might be able to get something for him!

Since he did not care about the team, tradition or anything else except himself I hope he never plays a single down in the NFL - As DunoNuthin said KARMA is a Bi*** Go back home!!! I hope the Boys can get out of his contract!!!
