SAN ANTONIO - Madison Maverick head coach Jim Streety has his team back in the state semi-finals.

What a season for Streety. Madison started 1-3, but is now in the state final four.

“It’s just a huge testimony to being patient and persistent and being a team and having great chemistry,” explained Coach Streety. “All those things – I felt like we could have. But we just needed to have something good happen to us.”

Madison plays Fort Bend Hightower Saturday at 4pm in the Alamodome.

By the way, there was a crazy rumor going around Monday that Harlingen was protesting their loss to Madison, claiming they used an illegal player. I talked with the UIL and administrators at Northeast ISD. No protest has been claimed and Jim Streety told us the accusations are absolutely false.

Kind of a silly story... that would be cool if they had video of a protest though (if there was one).

Harlingen hasn’t filed a complaint. Please read. They should check if you have a brain. Don’t embarrass SA. With your dumb comments.
