SAN ANTONIO - Corey Robinson, the son of Spurs legend David Robinson, gave his verbal commitment to Notre Dame on Tuesday.

The highly recruited wide receiver from San Antonio Christian Robinson told News 4 WOAI TV Sports Director Don Harris that he is excited to be going to South Bend.

"It was my best option. I prayed about it and got a real peace, and I'm excited to be a member of the Irish family," said Robinson.

Robinson quickly rose on recruiting lists after an impressive performance at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Combine and at a Nike showcase last weekend.

Robinson visited Notre Dame last weekend, and then Wake Forest on Tuesday before calling coach Brian Kelly with his decision. Notre Dame was the first to offer him a scholarship. He also has offers from North Carolina, Iowa, Wake Forest and Navy.
