SAN ANTONIO - Does it get any better than National Signing Day? Celebrating the highest level of high school sports for a free college education. As usual, plenty of local athletes are going division 1, especially in football.

Colin Blake from Brandeis chose Florida State over TCU and Oklahoma. Colin's Brandeis teammate Kyle Marrs committed to OU over a year ago, and stuck with it.

Speaking of the Sooners, OU got not one, but two Knights from Reagan High School. Brothers Trevor and Connor Knight will play for the Sooners starting next fall.

The highest rated recruit is also the biggest. Sam Houston's Javonte Magee, as expected, went with Baylor University. He chose the Bears over A&M and Missouri because it’s close to home so momma can watch him play. Plus, the sell job by Heisman winner Robert Griffin III didn't hurt Baylor's chances.

For the first time ever, UTSA had a chance to show recruits what Roadrunner football is all about - and it worked! This is Larry Coker's third recruiting class at UTSA, and boy did he have plenty to sell recruits on after a great first year on the field. And kids are buying it. This year's class includes players from Florida, Louisiana, and Arkansas. As UTSA moves into a better conference next season, the runners are finding out players like the opportunity UTSA football offers.

Incarnate Word sure tapped into the local talent. Of the 28 signees Wednesday, 13 are from the San Antonio or South Texas area. Devine's record setting running back Joseph Sadler will be going to Incarnate Word. Sadler broke Ken Hall's state record for most points in a season, finishing with 61 touchdowns last year.

Signing Day congratulations to…
