SAN ANTONIO - High school football kicked off Thursday night with 3 big games on the schedule; Churchill vs Clark, Warren vs MacArthur, and McCollum vs Jefferson.

The Gucci Bowl is so big, even Olympians showed up. Silver medal swimmer Jimmy Feigan on hand to watch Churchill take on Clark. Dimitrius Flowers son of former NFL star Eric Flowers scores 2 touchdowns. This game came down to the wire, the Chargers come out on top 36 to 29.

Out at Heroes Stadium, MacArthur vs. Warren. Ryan Larson scores on a 13 yard quarterback keeper, and there was plenty more of that to come. Warren racks up 29 points, and shuts out MacArthur 29 to 0.

Finally, at the Alamo Stadium, it was McCollum and Jefferson. The cowboys strike first; Jared Tejada hits Bobby Garza over the middle and takes it to the house, McCollum up 8 to 0.  Jefferson responds, Nathan Dehoyos calls his own number, 20 yards to the house on the quarterback keeper, 8 to 7. But McCollum came right back before the half, Tejada hits Daniel Garcia for the TD Pass. This game was back and forward all night, and McCollum holds onto win 22 to 21.

Behind the Mask: Winston School's Josh Overton

It's Friday Night Fever where we do more than football coverage. We take you behind the mask to find out what the best players in the area are into besides football.

This week, Josh Overton from the Winston School Eagles hasn't had the easiest road to football success. In second grade he found out he was battling dyslexia. Since enrolling at the Winston School he has excelled in his studies and received his first A+.
