The kids ages nine, ten and eleven are excited because they qualified for the national championships in Orlando. They have one major hurkey to over come. The cost of the trip is eight thousand dollars and they need help to raise money.

They have until Thursday to come up with the money for the trip. President Edward Villarreal says any help will be greatly appreciated. You can contact him at 210-249-6392 or send them an e-mail at young.mustangs2011@gmail.com.

I really appreciate all the ones that are on here supporting these girls that are doing something positive with their time instead of running in these streets getting into trouble. This particular activity didnt have fees to join. Now if you are mad cause you had to support your own child get over it should have been smarter to ask for help. There are people out there willing to help because they do not have selfish hearts & they know they will be blessed. I dont take kindly to people turning their nose up to my little cousin when they dont know the situations. These are little children and god loves them regardless of what others say. IM PROUD OF YOU YOUNG MUSTANGS keep up the hard work it has paid off so far. And please keep the negativity off this page...They are asking for donations not CRITICISM!!

To The Jefferson "Young" Mustang Cheerleaders I wish all of you the best of luck when you make it to Florida and represent our GREAT city!! Wear that red white and blue with pride!! I am sure that all your support and fundraising has gotten you through two other competitions such as City and State in Dallas!! So all the hard work has paid off and I will gladly help get you to Florida. Other parents spoil their kids with expensive gifts rather then having them learn great life lessons like if you want something bad enough you work hard for it. So bring home that TROPHY!! Walk proud for all that hard WORK!!! Way to go ladies!!!! Go Mustangs Go!! I rather donate to help kids then spend my money on supporting a bunch of selfish millionaires...

Yeah, the guy in the clouds looking down at all the "christians" will help solve all your problems. You can believe what you want, but dont force your "stories" on me. Plain and simple. What I find offensive "bornagain", is that you so called chrsitians are quick to spew hate on others who dont believe. I am not in a frenzy, just wish you would take your ignorant and hatelful religion and spread the "word" to people who give two shi#ts

Yes..it is alot of money for a cheer competition, however you factor in hotel stay, food, and transportation for 7 days 8000.00 is a small, as compared to teams that take over 30 girls in different divisions. There are only 7 girls on this team and many of them come from a low socio-economic area of town. Many might say things and critize, however when you have a child that loves this type of activity, and you see her smile at the thought of her and her team representing San Antonio in Florida you do your best to help her. Yes, I am one of the parents and unfortunatly we do not have the funds to just send her. Deep down i wish I did, however times are tough. This small team from the west side of San Antonio have made many of us proud. Words cant express how proud I am of my daughter and her team. Many of you might say things to be snotty or hurtful, that wont change the fact that these young ladies are going to represent the city with class. This is an opportunity and memories that these girls will not forget. GO MUSTANGS!!!

Get a clue, people. Excerpt from The Urban Dictionary: Poe's Law - "Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of Fundamentalism that SOMEONE won't mistake for the real thing." Applicable even if the parody was intentionally created for the purpose of fomenting derision.

If these parents have enough money to have their kids in these types of programs then they knew what they were getting themselves into. My daughter competed for pop warner and went to Orlando, however, I paid for her trip myself. I was told way in advance the chances of the team making it so I was told to save or fundraise. I didn't rely on others, especially during X-mas time, to support my decision to place my child in an extravagant "extra cirricular" activity, if I couldn't afford it. Either way it's a waste of money sometimes you go and the teams you compete are way better than the ones in Texas. Not to say these aren't good. I've never heard of them. Save your money or give it to worthy causes, such as the elderly. I hear they are suffering with not being able to pay for meds or food or heat. Give to them instead. Let these little girls parents support their trip, like I did. I work to hard to give it to others to go on vacation. That's what it really is, a vacation.

Of course you must think to religon there are far lefts and far rights like politcs. Me personally I don't believe god has a thing to do with what we do in our lives, a good man once told me that human perfection is in-perfect. But let these people go to a land where unicorns live and butterflies fart rainbows, I hope these girls read this and find out where these people live and stand in the front yard screaming hypocryte. Remeber christians are supposed to be humble ask them if they are a proud christian and then call them a liar they will shut up.

What kind of religion is sick enough to even think about 9- 10- and 11-year-old girls "flaunting themselves"? How bizarre. They seem like nice young girls who deserve to go, but $8,000 would be better spent on the homeless.
