Brazilian Shrimp Moqueca-Azuca Restaurant

Ingredients:

1 lb.      Shrimp Peeled and Clean

3oz.       Dende oil ((Palm Oil))

4oz.       Diced Onions

6oz.       Diced Tomatoes

4oz.       Diced Peppers

1 bch    Chopped Cilantro

1pinch  Chili Pepper

1ea       Lime Juice

1 cup    Coconut Milk

2oz.       Cachaça

            Salt & Pepper

 

Procedure:

In a heavy bottom skillet, heat the palm oil for a moment and add the diced onions, chopped garlic and diced peppers.

Add the shrimp and cook briefly, add the Cachaça and flame to evaporate the alcohol.

Add diced tomatoes, the chopped chili peppers, lime juice and coconut milk and simmer until cooked and sauce has thickened somewhat.

Season the stew with salt and chopped cilantro, before serving.

Serve with steamed white rice and or Farofa ((Toasted Manioc Meal))
