SAN ANTONIO -- Big dogs make great companions. They are wonderful partners for dancing, napping, jogging, yoga, snuggling, cooking, hugging, and many other fun activities.

Large breed dogs can make wonderful companions for any family who has a little more room in their life for lots of love. If you are looking for a large breed dog, the San Antonio Humane Society has you covered.

There are many large breed dogs ready to find their forever family at the San Antonio Humane Society, so stop by and say hello. Here are just a few currently residing at the shelter and who are ready to become the perfect companion for a loving family.

Adoption fees for Dogs:
25 pounds & under - $99
26 pounds & over - $65

This adoption fee includes: spay/neuter surgery, first set of vaccinations, microchip, de-wormer, flea and heartworm prevention, collar, tag, complimentary wellness exam within the first 5 days of adoption, 14 day complimentary follow up care at any VCA animal hospital , 30 days Sheltercare insurance, and a $5 coupon for Science Diet pet food.

This adorable gal is Gracie! Gracie is a 2-year-old Greyhound mix who came to us from our receiving facility at Animal Care Services and is currently looking for a new family. Gracie enjoys investigating her new surroundings.

She'll walk next to you on a leash and run ahead when she sees something that interests her, but she is quick to respond and will come whenever you call her.

Currently Gracie is heartworm positive, but after a few more treatments she will be heartworm free.

Gracie is a sweet heart who will make a great companion to the right owner or family. Come by and visit with Gracie today.

Leela is a 4-year-old Chinese Shar-Pei mix who was transferred to the shelter from Animal Care Services.

She is a sweet girl who is very curious about her surroundings. Leela can often be found with her nose in the air and her ears perked up in hopes to discover something new. She also enjoys receiving lots of attention and can't wait to be the center of her new owner's attention.
