SAN ANTONIO -- Come one, come all! The San Antonio Humane Society has some adoptable dogs who are quite small!

Recently the SAHS has taken in a large number of small dogs (mainly 25 pounds and under) who would like to start the New Year off in a new 'forever' home. These short-legged canines can be found in just about every corner of the shelter.

They are eager to greet their new owners with a small yip, wag, and little puppy kiss and hope to find someone who loves to cuddle just as much as they do! Come meet some of these sweet little canines who are ready for adoption at the SAHS.

Adoption fees for Dogs:

25 pounds & under - $99
26 pounds & over - $65

This adoption fee includes: spay/neuter surgery, first set of vaccinations, microchip, de-wormer, flea and heartworm prevention, collar, tag, complimentary wellness exam within the first 5 days of adoption, 14 day complimentary follow up care at any VCA animal hospital, 30 days Sheltercare insurance, and a $5 coupon for Science Diet pet food.

For more information, visit the San Antonio Humane Society at 4804 Fredericksburg Rd., call (210) 226-7461, or go to SAhumane.org.

Trisha

(SA Humane Society)
(SA Humane Society)
Trisha is a 3-year-old Terrier mix who was found as a stray and brought to the shelter by a Good Samaritan who knew she would make an excellent pet for a loving family.

Trisha is excited to meet new people and loves being the center of attention. One of her favorite things to do is play with rope toys. She also enjoys having her back scratched, but instead of licking or barking to show her appreciation, she makes an oinking noise; you'd think she was a piggy in disguise! Currently Trisha is heartworm positive, but with a few more treatments she'll be heartworm free.

Adopt Trisha today and give her the second chance she deserves!

Daisy is a 7-year-old Terrier/Chihuahua mix who was found wandering the streets of San Antonio and was brought to the shelter by a good samaritan.

Daisy is a very loving lapdog who enjoys spending time with those she cares about. She is a wonderful listener, she walks well on leash, and did I mention she has such a unique head of hair.

Daisy is a very sweet gal and she just wants to find that special someone who can give her all the love she deserves. Adopt Daisy at the San Antonio Humane Society today and make a new friend for life.

I would adopt every one of these puppies but I have already rescued three and that's enough. I will say, anyone that wants a little dog that loves everyone and everybody I highly recommend the little black and white terriers and the chihuahua mixes. I have a Chiweenie that is chihuahua and doxie mix and he loves everyone and everyone loves him. I would have a hard time finding who among my neighbors he is visiting when we go outside and he seems to have disappeared. Fortunately they send him home when they are finished petting and playing with him. He is very, very good with small children. My other two are a fox terrier and a rat terrier and I love all of them!
