SAN ANTONIO -- Need someone to run or walk with? Maybe just a big cuddle buddy? Then the 'Big Dogs' at the Animal Defense League are just what you're looking for.

During the entire month of May, ADL is holding a "Big Dogs Seek Big Hearts" adoption event for the shelter's big residents.

Adoption fees for all dogs 40 pounds or more will be reduced to just $40.

All prospective adopters are encouraged to come by and take a trial walk, run or cuddle. No matter your lifestyle, the shelter adoption staff will do its utmost to ensure a great adoption. Everything from the pet's history, temperament and health evaluations will be taken into account as well as dog-human compatibility.

All of the dogs and cats at ADL are spayed or neutered, micro chipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. These services will more than likely not be provided at the local pet store or when a neighbor has a litter of new puppies available for sale or free.
