SAN ANTONIO -- A viewer e-mailed us a concern about the handicap accessibility on the new expansion of the River Walk.

If you're in a wheelchair, we’ve got some information you should know before you ever get in the car to come to the river. News 4 WOAI checked with the San Antonio River Authority. It says one side of the river - the east bank - is fully A.D.A. compliant. They did that on purpose.

But across the river there are some cases on the west bank, however, that are only partially accessible. There are some ramps, but not as many as on the east bank.

On the map, the east bank is marked in blue, which is ADA compliant. However, the west bank, marked in red, is more difficult for the handicapped visitor to navigate.
