SAN ANTONIO - A nationwide organization with a mission to send World War II veterans to the national memorial for free has a new branch in San Antonio.
Alamo Honor Flight is in the beginning stages, but the organizations president says the focus is the same as branches that have been around for years.
"It's about the World War II veterans, and it's about them getting to see their memorial and honoring them for their service to our country," said David Paulos.
Alamo Honor Flight hopes to have its first flight to the memorial in Washington DC in June, but help is needed.
The non-profit only works off of donations and will not accept money from veterans. They also need volunteers. For information on how to give or how to sign a veteran up for a free trip, call Alamo Honor Flight at (210) 745-5800 or

There are roughly 14,000 World War II veterans in Bexar County.
