SAN ANTONIO -- Taco truck vendors are keeping an extra eye out at their businesses.
"I feel worried because we're in the same business," said Alma Ontiveros, owner of El Tacomiendo taco truck on the city's south side.Ontiveros says she's concerned about the crimes against taco vendors. A taco vendor was stabbed Sunday night.
The attack happened around 7:30 p.m. on Guadalupe near Trinity Street. The man was stabbed in the stomach, but was able to walk to a store to ask for help.
The victim was rushed to a hospital with life threatening injuries. Over the past few months there have been several taco truck robberies.
Ontiveros says the trucks are easy targets.
"People think we make a lot of money, but right know you know everything is so slow," added Ontiveros.
Juan Hernandez of Tacos Jalisco on the south side says his trucks are armed with baseball bats.
"We have to be ready for them," said Hernandez.
The vendors say they're just trying to make a living to provide for their families.
