SAN ANTONIO -- You can help a local fifth grader win a national competition.
Woodridge Elementary 5th grader McCoy Patterson is a finalist in the "Scottie's Trees Rock" contest. McCoy explained in his video why trees are important. He was shocked when he learned he was a finalist.
"My mom came in with a Scotties Tissue box cause that's who sponsors the contest, and she had a balloon that said, 'Whoo Hoo,'" McCoy told us.
The winner gets money for his or her school, a trip, and a classroom party.
