SAN ANTONIO - The University of Texas at San Antonio has opened a center to address the needs of children with autism.

The Teacher Education Autism Model or TEAM, opened on Thursday at its downtown campus.

The center will function like a teaching hospital and will serve children up to the age of five.

Families can get low cost treatment for their children while UTSA graduate students gain field experience helping them.

Behavioral therapy can be very expensive, but the center will charge only $50 a semester.

UTSA is taking applications from families who want to enroll their children for the Spring 2013 semester.

Families who are interested in receiving services for their children through the TEAM classroom should visit http://bit.ly/Vi8OCc.
