SAN ANTONIO -- New closures for the US 281/Loop 1604 Interchange project will start Thursday morning.

Alamo RMA officials say there will be lots of activity through the weekend along Loop 1604.

US 281 roadway closures

US 281 Northbound frontage left lane from Henderson Pass to Loop 1604 will be closed October 11, 2012 from 1:30 PM to 4 PM. Work is to pour concrete rail foundation.
US 281 Southbound Mainlanes from Loop 1604 to Donella will be closed nightly from 10 PM to 5 AM on October 11 -15, 2012. This closure is necessary to form the deck on the Loop 1604 Eastbound to US 281 Southbound Direct Connector.
US 281 Northbound Frontage Road at Loop 1604 will be closed October 13, 2012 from 10 PM to 5 AM. One lane will always remain open. Work is to place signal wire across roadway.
US 281 Southbound Frontage Road at Loop 1604 will be closed from 10 PM to 5 AM on October 14, 2012. Work is to place signal wire across roadway.
US 281 Southbound Exit Ramp at Donella will be closed starting at 10 PM on October 9, 2012 and will reopen on October 19, 2012. This closure will last approximately two weeks and is necessary to allow crews to place concrete railing on the direct connector in this area.

Loop 1604 roadway closures

Loop 1604 Westbound Frontage left lane at the Stone Oak exit ramp will be closed October 11-12, 2012 from 9 AM to 11 AM. Work is to pour concrete rail.
Loop 1604 Westbound Main right lane at the Stone Oak exit ramp will be closed October 11 -12, from 11 AM to 3 PM. Work is to pour concrete rail.
Loop 1604 Eastbound Frontage Road at US 281 will be reduced to one lane from 10 PM until 5 AM on October 11, 2012. Work is to place signal wire across roadway.
Loop 1604 Eastbound entrance ramp from Stone Oak Parkway / Voigt Drive will be closed daily from 9 AM until 4 PM on October 11-14, 2012. This closure is necessary to allow crews to remove the deck forming in this area.
Loop 1604 Eastbound Frontage lanes will be reduced to one lane from Trail Crest to US 281 October 11 -14, 2012 from 10 PM - 5AM. This closure is necessary to allow crews to remove the deck forming in this area.
Loop 1604 Westbound Frontage lanes will be reduced to two lanes at US 281 on October 12, 2012 from 10 PM - 5AM. Work is to place signal wire across roadway.
Loop 1604 Westbound Frontage right lane will be closed east of Redland October 13, 2012 from 1 PM - 3 PM. Work is to load cranes.
Loop 1604 Westbound Frontage right lane will be closed east of Huebner October 13, 2012 from 3 PM - 6 PM. Work is to unload cranes.
Loop 1604 Westbound Main Lanes at Huebner will be closed October 15, 2012 from 10 PM to 2 AM. Traffic will be detoured to the frontage lanes at Blanco exit ramp. Work is to place concrete beams on Huebner for bridge widening.
Loop 1604 Eastbound main lanes at Huebner will be closed October 15, 2012 from 2 AM to 5 AM. Traffic will be detoured at the Huebner exit ramp. Work is to place concrete beams on Huebner bridge widening.
Loop 1604 Eastbound main lanes at Bitters will be closed October 16, 2012 from 10 PM to 5 AM. Traffic will be detoured to the Bitters exit ramp. Work is to place the concrete beams on the Bitters bridge widening.
Loop 1604 Westbound Main Lanes at Bitters will be closed October 17, 2012 from 10 PM to 5 AM. Traffic will be detoured to the frontage lanes at Bitters exit ramp. Work is to place the concrete beams on the Bitters bridge widening.
