SAN ANTONIO -- The conversation about immigration reform is more lively than ever, and not just on the national stage, but right here in San Antonio.

Our sister station Fox San Antonio organized a town hall meeting on immigration reform. The event was held Thursday evening at Sunset Station and was moderated by Mark Hyman of our parent company, Sinclair Broadcast Group.

As expected, the discussion got pretty heated at times.

I have to agree w/@BTY and @Baven2, prove it, doesn't matter what hemisphere you are from. If you are here illegally then leave. If it costs too much like the fed keeps insisting then send their government te bill for each and every illegal that gets sent back to them. If they don't pay then we take the money back via denial of aid money, import taxes, or whatever other vehicle that is available to us to recoup the cost of their transportation and lodging (incarceration fees?) that are available to us. All politicians that are pandering to the illegal aliens demands for permanent citizenship here need to be relieved of their duties as well. They all are showing not only their ability, but also their willingness to commit crimes to further their own ambitions, just as bad as the ones that are here illegally.

Got my birth certificate (official county and hospital), drivers license, social security card, valid credit card, utility bill statement, and passport (although expired haven't needed it) all right here. If you were born elsewhere, and didn't immigrate legally, you are illegal. Kindly relocate back to your own country. Tomorrow's weather looks promising for your trip.

I agree send all illegals back. The white ones too. So all you commentators here, have your papers ready to prove you are here legally. There are plenty of blond blue eyed illegals here too. So don't be offended when they ask you for your papers. You say your an a American? PROVE IT or go back to wherever you came from, and none of this "my family has been here for generations, because so has mine.

I will welcome anyone I don't have to support but when I have to pay for their food, education, & healthcare I welcome them to leave.

if being American means being cruel to the poorest people in the world, simply because they are on our land without documents, I'd rather just be referred to as a Texican. I welcome ALL people and will never follow some politic blowhard who tries to scare me into isolationism or protectionism. St. Peter will reject you like a bounced check for using your gift of life to oppress the lives of others.

Jaime Martinez, who is an American but speaks English like he is speaking a foreign language, is San Antonio's version of Jesse Jackson. He is involved with union organizing, any event that is designed to promote racism as a political opportunity, any protest agaist "the man" and most of all- any opportunity to rail against injustice against the majority minority here in San Antonio. He is a perfect liberal, favoring sloans over substance, buzz words over fact. He isn't very good at the liberal tactic of spewing out a lot of words that, other than repeating their buzz words and slogans, mean nothing at all, but he tries anyway. That drivel is supposed to sound smart to the drones, but he is so obvious that he could be used as a case study of what these people do. That professor who was sitting next to him was on Jaime's side of the issues, generally, but he must have cringed every time Jaime opened his mouth. Mr Rodriguez, was openly laughing at him. It was an amusing performance, but it must have been frustrating for anyone who was trying to discuss the issues. All things considered, Mr Jaime Martinez has all the qualifications to be a successful Democrat politician and I am surprized he hasn't run for a seat in Congress. Momentum...Chadows...

Part Two……..Most Americans are not aware of the fact that Mayor Julian Castro, SAPD Chief William McManus, City Attorney Michael Bernard and others are named in two Federal Civil Rights lawsuits for trampling the Constitutional rights of law-abiding American citizens when they issued criminal trespass warnings to silence reports of public/police corruption. They don’t know that TWO law-abiding citizens will not be allowed to hear the civil rights proclamation or attend the public function inside City Hall Council Chambers under threat of arrest and incarceration. They don’t know about the lawsuit Jaime Martinez’s attorney threatened to file against citizens exposing Martinez’s refusal to challenge Police Chief McManus and other city “leaders” in their efforts to hide decades of public/police corruption by banning citizens from City Hall and public meetings. They don’t know that Martinez refused to provide assistance after learning that armed SAPD officers rousted law-abiding citizens from their beds to perform a mental health examination in an effort to intimidate, harass and silence taxpayers reporting the long-term theft and misuse of tens of millions of dollars set aside by law to support 911, telecommunications and other public safety systems……….systems that are failing due to the corruption and lack of funds siphoned off by corrupt city persons. ……………………………… http://tpr.org/post/banned-city-hall
