SAN ANTONIO -- Struggling finances could cause more Texans to be what is known as 'food insecure' next year.
Food insecure simply means they won't know where their next meal is coming from. The federal government is considering cutting $16-billion from the supplemental nutrition assistance program or food stamps. If that happens, more than 300,000 Texas who qualify for food stamps now will not qualify next year.
