SAN ANTONIO -- While you enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday with friends and extended family, your plumbing might be feeling the strain. The day after Thanksgiving is the single busiest day of the year for residential plumbers.

"Your household is used to having 2, 3 or 4 people in it," says Kent Wahl, with AAA Auger Plumbing. "Next thing you know you have 45 people over and for obvious reasons, the sewage system is a little bit tested."

Along with the toilet troubles, AAA Auger says disposal issues are another big reason they get calls. They recommend throwing away all food scraps.

All of that dry overcooked turkey that people are trying to stuff down the drain will clog it up every time.
