Thanksgiving holiday closures

SAN ANTONIO -- Many public locations will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, and some services will not be available.

Thanksgiving holiday schedule of City services:

• City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed to celebrate the Thanksgiving Day holidays on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27.
• Other City services will operate as follows:
• All libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday.
• Downtown visitors will enjoy parking meter holidays Thursday and Friday.
• Municipal Court, 401 S. Frio, will be closed Thursday and Friday.
• Animal Care Services lobby, kennel and adoption center will be closed Thursday and Friday.
• City Base, Las Palmas, Oak Ridge Plaza and Valley View Community Link Service Centers will be closed Thursday and Friday.
• South Park Mall Community Link Service Center will be closed Thursday and open Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Bitters Brush Recycling Center, 1800 Bitters Road, will be closed Thursday and Friday.
• All municipal golf courses and facilities will be open Thursday and Friday.
• Dead animal collection crews, animal care officers, and police, fire and EMS personnel will be on duty as usual.

Garbage and recyclable collection schedule for Thanksgiving holiday

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no garbage or recyclables collection on Thursday, November 26.

Residents who normally receive collection on Thursday will receive service on Wednesday, November 25. Residents who receive Friday collection will receive their regularly scheduled service on Friday, November 27.

The Solid Waste Management Department encourages residents to set out their trash or recycling bin by 7:00 a.m. on their designated collection date to avoid a missed collection.

Bexar County

Most Bexar County offices will be closed Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27th in observance of Thanksgiving holiday.
