SOUTH PADRE ISLAND -- A Texas beach has earned a "5 star rating" from a group that monitors the cleanliness of our nation's beaches.
South Padre Island earned high marks from the The Natural Resources Defense Council for having good water quality, strong testing practices, and for notifying the public of potential water hazards.
The Texas General Land office runs a website that provides this information for all Texas beaches, along with current weather conditions.
