The medications sold uner the names Januvia and Byetta can cause lesions to form on the pancreas. The drugs doubled hospitalization visits across the country for acute pancreatitis.
Researchers say people taking these drugs should see their doctor if they experience nausea, excessive vomiting or abdominal pain.
