SAN ANTONIO -- The Bexar County Sheriff's Office seized a horse from a property this morning in South Bexar County.
A News 4 WOAI viewer had alerted us to the animal.
"The horse did appear to be a little malnourished," said Louis Antu with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. "So, we immediately took custody of the horse and the horse is in our possession now."
The owner of the horse is being questioned by investigators. The horse is currently in the custody of BCSO and will be examined by a veterinarian.
Antu said investigators will have to wait and see what the veterinarian has to say about the animal's condition.
"We're going to do a complete investigation on it," Antu said.
At this point, the Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to house the animal.
"We are looking for a licensed facility to take custody of the horse," Antu said. "So, if there's anybody out there that is willing, they can call us."
Anyone wishing to help the horse can contact the Bexar County Sheriff's Office at (210) 335 - 6070.
