SAN ANTONIO -- Southwest Airlines has officially opened its new Customer Support and Services Center (CS&S) in San Antonio.

The new Center is located at Interstate 35 and O'Connor and replaces the old facility located at Medical Drive.

The CS&S Department handles more than 60 million calls a year.

"San Antonio is great place to expand and grow. This is a great milestone and the City of San Antonio is proud to host Southwest Airlines' largest customer service center in the nation. This development will retain 478 jobs and bring 322 new jobs to the area. The new customer service center will serve as a catalyst for economic growth, job creation and revitalization in this part of the city," added City Manager Sheryl Sculley.

I went to the SW website right after the newscast and only job listings are for Dallas. *shrugs* So either news is a day late and dollar short or they haven't posted the jobs yet.

Never take a SW flight that connects to Oakland unless you enjoy the smell of booty and hennesey.

For those who have tried to apply already, did you go through the actual website? I tried to apply through the site but it only brings up Dallas listings and does not bring San Antonio at all...it just aired today but maybe they are no longer taking apps?

GOOD NEWS IN SAN ANTONIO: SAD NEWS IN HOUSTON - Channel 4 has posted good news for our city that says Southwest Airlines - a success story started in Texas announced that they were opening a call center in Northeast San Antonio to handle reservations. An area of the city that can use these jobs to help this area grow economically. On the same day, the Channel 4 web page has an article that Houston is loosing 1,200 United Airline jobs. Southwest is growing, United is not doing as well. It is great to be on the winning side. I would like to thank Southwest for locating here. San Antonio has always had Southwest in high regard, it is nice of them to return the favor. From a guy who likes Southwest - where you almost always get a Texas smile.
