The City of San Antonio is hoping the San Antonio Missions will be known worldwide.
Today, city leaders hosted a news conference announcing their plans in applying to make the Missions a World Heritage Site recognized by the United Nations. These sites include famous locations such as the Statue of Liberty, the Great Barrier Reef, the Grand Canyon and more.
The city also wants to hear the public's thought on the matter. A public meeting will be held tomorrow at the Mission San Jose Visitor Center, where residents can get more information on the application process, as well as share their questions and comments.
The city has also set up a website where the public can share photos and stories of the Missions. Donations are also accepted at the site.
