SAN ANTONIO -- If you're a San Antonio Water System Customer, you might be receiving a notice in your e-mail or mailbox saying your water bill is going up. SAWS says the notices are just a reminder that a rate hike increase could be on the way.
SAWS first proposed a nearly 10% rate increase back in October, but the increase still has to be voted on by the SAWS Board of Trustees and City Council by the end of the month.
"It may be a little bit confusing, but it's all the same issue." said Anne Hayden, a spokesperson for SAWS. "We're just required to give lots and lots of notice on this."
If the proposed rates are approved, SAWS will send out another mailing to notify customers of the increase.
