AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas law enforcement officers are hoping you can help them track down one of Texas' 10 Most Wanted fugitives.
Jesus Alberto Villegas, 33, is wanted for Sexual Assault of a Child, Felony Theft, and Prohibited Weapons Violation. Texas Crime Stoppers is offering a $17,500 reward for information leading to his capture if the tip comes in during the month of January.
Villegas was last seen in 1998 in Abilene and has active warrants issued by the Taylor County Sheriff's Office. He also has family in the Dallas area.
Villegas is 5' 11" tall and was last known to weigh approximately 145 pounds.
The photo of Villegas shown was taken in 1998. He has a tattoo on his back and has been known as "Pecas."
Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in four different ways:
• Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
• Text the letters DPS-followed by your tip-to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
• Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
• Submit a Facebook tip at http://www.facebook.com/texas10mostwanted by clicking the "SUBMIT A TIP" link (under the "About" section).
All calls, texts, e-mails and Facebook tip messages are anonymous.
