NEW YORK (NBC News Channel) -- A simple questionnaire could help determine if a patient has normal age-related memory loss or mild cognitive impairment -- putting them at risk for Alzheimer's disease.

Researchers developed 21 yes or no questions to be answered by relatives or care-givers about memory, function and language.

People with cognitive impairment were more likely to repeat questions and statements, have trouble knowing the date or time, have difficulty managing finances as well as a decreased sense of direction.
