Clayton, NJ -- Police have found the body of Autumn Pasquale, 12, in a recycling bin near a home, just a mile away from where she lived. The pre-teen had been reported missing by her father on Saturday night after she didn't return home from a bike ride. Pasquale would have turned 13 next week.
Now two brothers, ages 15 and 17, are charged with her murder. Investigators say the boys likely lured Pasquale into their home to steal her bike. An autopsy performed earlier today didn't reveal signs of sexual assault, but investigators say she was likely strangled.
The discovery comes as a blow to her family and the close-knit community of Clayton. Members of the community had held a candlelight vigil for Pasquale's safe return just two hours before her body was found.
The identities of the teenage suspects are not being revealed. Police say they turned themselves in this afternoon escorted by their attorneys. They are now charged with multiple counts, including first degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, disposing of the body, tampering with evidence and theft. The 15-year-old brother has been charged with an additional count of luring.
