I quess the "forever" stamps are still good - Seems like a stupid question but also seems like it should have been mentioned in the article. I mailed out several bills yesterday before I know of the increase so I quess I will find out.

Baven Seems you miss the point. Lets raise the price of postage. Fedex and UPS will go up also because of law. No carrier can under bid the USPS service. Make congress pay the same percentage (70 years in advance) for their future members retirement also. I pay a great deal for the USPS mail weekly and get an excellent service. Why don't you start a business and have your father keep micromanaging your business and see how you give great service?

What else is new, a big government boondoggle is broke and hemorrhaging taxpayer dollars. If the USPS were a private business, it would have been sold off 10 years ago as it should have been. There is nothing, and I do mean nothing, I get via USPS which couldn't be delivered electronically (mostly junk mail). Any parcel of importance comes to me via FedEx or UPS.
