SAN ANTONIO -- Some neighbors living on the Stone Oak Meadows subdivision on the Northside say they've been dealing with water pressure problems for several years.
One resident said the water pressure was too low and would trickle out, while another said it was too high.
"It was twice as much as it should have been," said Candace Marmolejo.
Marmolejo said at one point she had so much water pressure going into her home that her washing machine hoses were leaking. She went on to say she had to install a new water pressure reducing valve and water pressure is back to normal.
However, other people are still having problems in the neighborhood. The northside area was previously controlled by the now-dissolved Bexarmet Water Utility. The San Antonio Water System is now in charge of the water and will be investigating the issue.
"We're looking at whether there are pumps in the area; whether there's a water source in the area that perhaps is driving up the pressure," said Anne Hayden with SAWS. "We're not really sure."
Hayden also said there are a variety of different pressure zones throughout the city and the pressure may vary depending on the altitude of your neighborhood.
If you have too much pressure, experts recommend investing in a pressure reducing valve.
"Generally you shouldn't need one unless the pressure is over 85 psi", added Hayden.
