SAN ANTONIO -- The "29th Annual National Night Out" (NNO), a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW).
Texas will celebrate National Night Out on October 2, 2012.
National Night Out is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Councilman Rey Saldaña and staff will visit District 4 neighborhoods and participate in 2012 National Night Out events.
Councilman Saldaña will begin the evening in the Valley Forest Neighborhood on the corner of Yucca Valley and Medina Base Rd to participate in the neighborhood's flagpole dedication ceremony.

District 5 Councilman David Medina to take trolley to National Night Out events

Councilman David Medina will participate in National Night Out 2012 by attending a number of gatherings in District 5. The Councilman and his staff will be joined by District 5 representatives from Code Compliance and SAPD.

Creekside National Night Out
Creekside Homeowners Association are inviting neighbors to their annual National Night Out event on October 2nd from 7-10 pm.
The event will be held at the Creekside Community Center located at 4834 Senisa Springs.
The association has also invited many public officials to attend including the mayor and district councilman Ray Lopez. Libro the Lion from the Library association, Mcgruff and officers with SAPD, Fire officials will be attending with their fire truck for demonstrations.
They will also have a DJ, a Human hamster ball, a bounce house, clowns, a face painter, balloon artist and lots of games, contests and prizes to give out.
Grilled burgers,hot dogs, chips, dips and desserts will be served. We will also have sno-cones and popcorn.

An open mike will be available for those who wish to showcase their undiscovered talents. Talking and laughing with neighbors and friends while showing support against crime and drugs will prove to be unforgettable.

SUAVE - South Side
SUAVE/Harlandale ISD National Night Out
Southside United Against a Violent Environment (SUAVE) is once again partnering with the Harlandale ISD to hold one of the largest National Night Out events in San Antonio.
When: Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 6:00 pm.-8:00 p.m.
Where: Memorial Stadium at 4002 Roosevelt
The annual event gives members of the community a time to come together, get to know one another, and have a little fun. It also helps promote neighborhood safety and community involvement.
There will be vendors and exhibitors from different businesses and organizations, performances by school cheerleaders and dance teams, skits by Las Mujeres Nobles and Familias in Accion, door prizes, Push Rods Classic Cars, and limited free food and drinks.
Hays County
Hays County National Night Out
Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler is pleased to announce that on October 2nd, 2012, Hays County will be participating along with the rest of Texas to celebrate National Night Out Against Crime.
This year, the Hays County Sheriff's Office is encouraging Hawaiian themes, which in the spirit of the television show "Hawaii Five-O," we are calling "Hays County Five-O."
Hays County will have over 100 parties in neighborhoods from San Marcos to Kyle to Buda to Dripping Springs to Wimberley.
