NEW YORK -- A new anti-smoking proposal is up for debate in New York City after Mayor Michael Bloomberg says cigarettes out of sight are cigarettes out of mind.
Under the anti-smoking proposal, stores would be required to keep tobacco products concealed by keeping them in drawers and behind curtains. The goal is to reduce the youth smoking rate.
Mayor Bloomberg has also crusaded against large sugary drinks, salt in foods served at restaurants and junk food in vending machines.
DISCUSS: What do you think about the proposed anti-smoking legislation? Will it help reduce the youth smoking rate? Why or why not?
