SAN ANTONIO -- James Morrison, 32, was found guilty of capital murder. Morrison was on trial for shooting three women and killing two of them. The victims include his ex-girlfriend Candace Moten, her mother Laura Moten, and younger sister Krystal Moten.
"This has been a very long ordeal for our family, said Marjorie Moten Suggs, sister of Laura Moten. "Three and a half years waiting for justice to be served and finally it was served tonight."
The shooting happened back in April of 2009 at the Saddlewood apartments on the Northeast side.
Officers say Morrison showed up at the apartments and began slashing tires. The women confronted him and he started shooting.
During the trial, the defense claimed Morrison acted in self defense. They said he feared for his own life, because the women weighed more than 240 pounds, were aggressive and violent.
Morrison faces up to life in prison or the death penalty.
