More West Nile fogging at JBSA Fort Sam Houston next week

SAN ANTONIO -- Joint Base San Antonio officials say more West Nile virus mosquito fogging will be done at JBSA Fort Sam Houston next week.

JBSA Fort Sam Houston. Crews will use truck mounted fogging systems at JBSA Fort Sam Houston from Tuesday, September 4 through Thursday, September 6th. Officials say mosquito sample pools tested positive for West Nile Virus in multiple locations around JBSA-Fort Sam Houston since the first three positive samples were collected on July 18th. The fogging operation will begin at 8:30 p.m. in low-lying mosquito-prone portions of JBSA-Fort Sam Houston and at midnight in the housing areas on the installation.

JBSA Camp Bullis. Target-based mosquito fogging with handheld devices began on the evening of Aug. 29 in a creek bed on JBSA-Camp Bullis.

JBSA Lackland. Fogging is also being conducted at JBSA-Lackland. Two areas at Lackland tested positive last week for West Nile Virus mosquitoes

JBSA-Randolph.  Fogging is also being conducted at JBSA-Randolph after one area tested positive last week.
