SAN ANTONIO – The Fit Family Challenge is helping San Antonio families get in shape this summer – for free.

News 4 WOAI is one of the program’s sponsors.

We’re a little more than one month into the program and stopped by a class at San Pedro Park for a progress report.

“Speed it up,” an exercise trainer says while demonstrating the routine. “Single, single, double.”

First, we zapped into Zumba – a toe-tapping training one mom says she used to sidestep.

"Almost three weeks ago, ask me to Zumba? I'm like, yeah right,” this mom says. “You want to ask me to walk. Oh, you're crazy."

So what motivated her? The price is right.

“Free?” she says. “All right. Let’s go for it.”

Her family is one of hundreds accepting the challenge to keep moving.

"Kids get sedentary again during the summer,” Dr. Susan Blackwood with the Fit Family Challenge says. “And so with families coming out and having a great time, enjoying each other's company, as well as learning more about their fitness and their health and exercise programs, it's really important."

Families keep track of their classes on a daily log. At the end of the summer, they’re eligible for prizes.

“They also give us pointers on nutrition,” another mom named Margaret says. “That’s a great help to us.”

We’re keeping up with the kickboxers now.

“Fighter stance,” another trainer demonstrates.

Margaret says these are the only workout classes her family can find that’s free every day.

“They like the family togetherness,” she says. “The quality time we spend together.”

It’s a healthy way for families to kick up their feet.

“If you’ve got it in you, kick high!” the trainer says.

The free workout classes are offered nearly every day this summer. Click here for a calendar.

But Dodie, as a "Good Christian", you don't judge people, nah! Dodie, these ladies are just out to burn a few calories. You might want to try it yourself.

Do these women have any morals or modesty? First, they have no business going out in public dressed in such obscene clothing. They are showing far too much of their skin and their limbs. Most of all, what they are calling exercise is nothing but dancing. Dancing is a sin. These women need to get involved in the church instead of going around without any clothes on and dancing. The Lord simply cannot forgive those people who intentially sin against him. These women are doing JUST that, which makes God and Jesus angry, which affects all of us--even us Christians. Those women are putting their entire eternal life at risk. This is just sad and scary. I pray that they make right with the Lord and stop cavorting with the devil.
