I think the sole purpose of stealing them is probably just to be jerks. They think it's hilarious that someone may fall in one. I wouldn't think it was funny if I was the one who got hurt though and I bet this guy doesn't think it's funny either.

Thats a good question Jim I remember a little while back a group of these guys stole all the drain gratings in the parking lots over at the shopping center where the Lowes is at on 151 and 410. its like what do ya do with those things sell them to some one else ,cut them up.???

I don't see how the city can be held responsible when the manhole cover was stolen. That raises another question - What does somebody do with a stolen manhole cover? Recycling centers are my first thought, but surely these places have to know they are stolen to begin with. Same goes for copper wiring.

Great some more stupid a$$ holes stealing the covers off stuff again .Now we gotta get this guy healthy on our dime.
