SAN ANTONIO -- A man has his neighbor to thank tonight after he escapes a house fire. Firefighters say a neighbor noticed flames coming from a second story apartment at the Casiano Courts Apartment Complex on the west side.
The man was treated for smoke inhalation and was transported to the hospital as a precaution, but is expected to be okay. The cause of the fire is under investigation tonight. Firefighters estimate the damage to be between $25,000 to $30,000.
The Red Cross and the San Antonio Housing Authority, which owns Casiano Courts, is assisting the man with shelter.
