SAN ANTONIO -- Martin Luther King Jr. is this Monday and City officials say the 2013 MLK March promises to include another famous figure.
At least 100,000 people are expected to walk the nearly three miles from MLK Drive to Pittman-Sullivan Park. At the end of the march, City Council will host a special screening of President Barack Obama's Inauguration. It's an event council members say transcends race boundaries, similar to Dr. King's dream.
"It just shows that there's interest across race and ethnic groups across the city," said Ivy Taylor, District 2 Councilwoman. "And (there's) support for just reflecting on Dr. King's dream and continuing to challenge ourselves on how we can make our community better."
The march will mark the 26th year San Antonio has participated.
