SAN ANTONIO - Turning heartbreak into hope – bereaved families honor children's legacies by helping San Antonio's neediest kids. A group that supports families who have lost or miscarried a baby is holding a walk and shoe drive this weekend to benefit children in need.

The Miss Foundation, which stands for “Mothers In Sympathy and Support” encourages families that have lost babies to take part in kindness projects in honor of their lost children.

“My oldest son was stillborn at full term in 2004, and I became acquainted with the MISS Foundation for my own support through that process. It's a very lonely experience, so it's very critical to have other people who understand what you're going through,” explained Jennifer Soos from the MISS Foundation.

The "Kindness Walk" will be held this Sunday at Woodlawn Lake with registration starting at noon and the walk beginning at 1 pm.

The "Beautiful Soles" shoe drive will be held immediately after the walk at 2 pm. Participants are asked to bring a pair of new or gently used shoes. The shoes will then each be adorned with a legacy message in honor of a child lost, and will be donated to the Children's Shelter of San Antonio.
