SAN ANTONIO -- Reduce, reuse, recycle. It's the message the Judson Independent School District is putting to use as it launches a 90-day recycling pilot program.

Today, the district installed recycle and compost carts throughout Hartman Elementary School. Students will be able to dump paper, plastic and aluminum into one bin and cafeteria food into the other. The district says the program will reduce their waste by up to 80 percent and they hope to have all their schools involved by 2014.
