SAN ANTONIO -- A man is sitting in jail tonight accused of luring women into prostitution.
The San Antonio Police Department arrested 43-year-old Glen Dukes Wednesday on trafficking charges. Investigators say Dukes lured two women into prostitution and forced them to bring him all of their earnings, threatening to physically assault them if they did not.
"We do believe the suspect was perpetrating violent acts on victims at many levels, " said William McManus, SAPD Police Chief.
McManus said authorities served two search warrants at two East Side homes. In a press conference, McManus called the operation "sinister" and said one of the homes had been set up with hidden rooms and additional walls.
Investigators say Dukes would give the women food, clothes, shelter and drugs.
Dukes had been charged with two counts of trafficking of persons and a parole violation.
McManus said investigators believe there are more victims. Police say Dukes was known to drive a green Chevy Suburban with the license plate AY2-6990.
