SAN ANTONIO -- More H1N1 vaccine has arrived in San Antonio and is now available to the general public.

Hundreds of people have made their way to two Texas MedClinic locations that are offering the vaccine. However, while Texas MedClinic officials will not turn anyone away who wants to get the vaccine, they want to remind you that if you are not considered 'high risk,' you could be taking the vaccine away from someone who really needs it.

One of those high risk patients is Christin Gish. You'd never know it by looking at her, but she is about 2 1/2 months pregnant.

"Being in the first trimester, it's a little scary," Gish told News 4 WOAI. "So, I was very concerned and wanted to get that as soon as possible."

The baby will be Gish's first, and she is doing all she can to keep herself and her baby healthy. So, while there was no question about whether or not she should get the vaccine, there was a question about where she could get it.

Gish's regular OB-GYN hasn't received her requested shipment of the H1N1 vaccine. That is why she encouraged the mother-to-be to take advantage of the H1N1 flu clinics available through Texas MedClinic.

"I had called other places," explained Gish. "But the Texas MedClinic, I called them, and they immediately said come in. And it was easy."

Gish was in and out of the clinic in less than 30 minutes, but added that the best thing about the getting the vaccine is the sense of security that comes along with it.

"It makes me feel so much better," Gish told News 4 WOAI. "Just gives me that ultimate peace of mind that now. I know I'm safe from the ultimate fear...of losing a baby from a disease that's viral."

The Texas MedClinic H1N1 vaccine clinics will be open Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. or until TexasMedClinic's supplies of H1N1 vaccine run out. (Note: Texas MedClinic anticipates their clinics will run out of the H1N1 vaccine sometime Friday. Be sure to call before you go.)
