How doe teh people at the salvatiopn army know that they need the help. Most of these people rather purchase beer, wine or drugs and have the children do without then tending o them first.

People are a little gunshy about giving to organizations and people because every year without fail there's reports of some scam or some donations lining the pockets of some fatcat slimeball...just sayin. Give but give wisely. If you see a Marine with a toysack over their shoulder, thats a sure sign that your money is going to the right place. Unless its a scammer wearing a Marine uniform. In that case every avalible Marine in the area, retired and active, should take it upon themselves to end that person on the spot.

Donating is the best, but Volunteer as well! Or do your own fundraiser for a charity throughout the year. We got do it yourself ideas from http://www.homeseasons.com/ and donated the proceeds to the local charity. Get creative!

don't forget our furry residents! you can also volunteer every day, not just holidays at our local shelters and rescues. they are always taking food donations, as well as blanket and toys. when you are cold, so are the furry babies...
