Texas entered the union in 1845 it was with the understanding it could pull out. However, according to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, Texas negotiated the power to divide into four additional states at some point if it wanted to but not the right to secede. Texas did secede in 1861, but the North's victory in the Civil War put an end to that

White House website deluged with secession petitions from 20 states ....http://dailycaller.com/2012/11/11/white-house-website-deluged-with-secession-petitions-from-19-states/ ... Texas secession petition reaches 25,000 signatures, triggering White House review ... http://dailycaller.com/2012/11/12/will-texas-secede-petition-reaches-25000-signatures-triggering-white-house-review/ ... The list of states filing petitions is surprising in some ways. Texas won't have to survive on its on with Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee, for starters, as possible members of a new Republic.

Moonshine...Your conspiracy is like a huge ship that’s been traveling around the globe, spreading its ideology and it’s suddenly come crashing onto the rocks and lies in tatters. Now there are some people, including Progress, who are trying to pick the pieces up and put it back together. There are others who are just clinging onto the wreckage as it bobs around in the sea afraid to let go for fear they drown. We have to be the ones that emerge and say let go, you won’t drown, there is an alternative way of dealing with paranoia.

Do you really believe Texas can survive on its own? We have incompetent leadership in Austin that will be our downfall. We cant fund our schools and you are talking about seceding?

guess you failed to learn to understand what ur reading there twister2. was correcting SraSpur20 on a bad statement on her part. seems that true and proud Texans fall into two categories, those that like O's ruination of this country, and those that want out of it while there's still time. u chose ur side, i chose mine. nuf said.
