SAN ANTONIO -- Some say it's like a virus that just keeps coming back.
There's a "graffiti war" underway between homeowners, city officials, and taggers. It's a never-ending cycle for neighborhoods working to clean up graffiti just in time for someone else to pull out their spray paint and do it all over it again.
The biggest challenge for law enforcement is they can only make an arrest if they catch the taggers in the act. That means they need people who spot taggers in their neighborhoods to call police the minute they see them. Neighbors should also file a police report by calling the SAPD Non-Emergency number 210-207-7273.
The city has set up a graffiti removal hotline/web page.
