The death of Billy Mays is bringing even more awareness to heart disease. The 50-year-old tv pitchman, who was famous for the Oxiclean infomercial, died Sunday. He had suffered from heart disease.

There are several things you can do to keep your heart healthy, including eating better.

Instead of using butter or lard when cooking things like beans, try olive or canola oil. Do you need milk for your cereal? Use skim or 1% milk. If you're making a sandwich, eat skinless chicken instead of ham or bologna. Try to stay away from donuts, cakes and chips. Eat oatmeal, whole-grain pasta and brown rice.
