SAN ANTONIO - Wal-mart has recalled a brand of fitness bands because they can snap and cause injuries.

About 75,000 "Perfect Resistance" bands have been removed from store shelves because they can detach from the mesh cloth loops and injure the user or people standing nearby.

At least 12 injuries have been reported, including injuries to the back, hand and eye.

The bands were sold exclusively at Wal-mart and online at PERFECTONLINE.COM.

Consumers should stop using the fitness bands and contact Implus Footcare for a refund or replacement product at 800-446-7587.

They were still on the shelf at wal-mart (I-10 and De Zavala area), yesterday (1-26-13) afternoon.
