BEXAR COUNTY, Texas -- Bexar County has issued a disaster declaration and banned certain fireworks for the July 4th holiday.
The order bans the sale and use of flying and aerial fireworks that have the potential of reaching more than 16 feet height. Those include skyrockets, missiles, helicopters, cakes, reloadables and tubes. Fireworks can also only be sold from June 30th to July 4th. The use of ground fireworks will only be allowed in designated safe zones.
There are 8 safe areas to choose from. Firefighters will be on hand to make sure there aren't any problems.

If you're caught lighting fireworks in areas not deemed "safe" zones, it can mean a $1,000 fine and up to 180 days in jail.
