SAN ANTONIO -- It's been 4 years, but a local family is still searching for answers.

Robert Barrientes, 46, was found badly beaten behind Terry's Friendly Spot Bar off Steves Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue. Barrientes was later pronounced dead on scene as a result of head trauma.

His daughter, Veronica Zamudio, spoke to News 4 and says she can't understand why anyone would want to hurt her father.

"I want the killer brought forward," Zamudio said. "I want him to come and confess his crime. You know, tell us why."

There is a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect. If you have any information on the case, call Crimestoppers at (210) 224 - STOP. You can remain anonymous.

I was so offended I couldn't type correctly. My corrections are "in our shoes" and "Why would you".

What do you mean "motive of both parties"? My father knew ppl all around that neighborhood. He was a terminally ill man who had a limited time left to be with us. So because his innocence can't be proven his MURDER gets a blind eye???? Really that's sad that ppl feel that way. I hope you and your family are NEVER in ou shoes. hy would ou consider this an alchol related crime. Have you read his death certificate or autopsy? I have all the brutal details that caused my Dad's death. Tha damage the killer did to him was uncalled for. He never had a chance to defend himself in his state of health!!!!

It is difficult to deminish a life, the loss of parent or son, but the cirumstances may inhibit the SAPD from pursuing this particular case. Alchol related crimes are not given a lot of attention unless it is a clear loss of innocent lives, drunk driver/children. This crime is brutal but due to the lack of information on the motive of both parties the innocent part is muddled.
